Home turf #1

The mind might be already elsewhere, busy with gathering location information, flights, hotels, transport, clocking hours on Google, but this does not prevent us enjoying the fantastic location of the home turf- Albert Park lake, in the middle of Melbourne- which is where our club- the Melbourne Speed Club- is based and where we train 3 to 4 times a week.

It's winter here in Australia, on the mountains a good dump of snow has fallen, and in town the days are windy and cold.

It's still pretty dark when we 'hit the track' around 7 in the morning, and often quite chilly, and some days, it rains quite hard and we have to postpone outdoor training.
Overall though, we have managed to keep the training schedule- Tuesdays indoors for a more technical session, and Thursdays and Saturdays around the lake or the beach front, not far from the lake.

On Sundays, while sensible folks have a 'late morning', breakfast in bed, and a slow start to the day, we often hop on our bicycles and go for a 50-70 km ride along the bay. Starting at 7.30, we are usually done and around the breakfast table at one of our favourite cafes by 9, before everyone heads off to whatever other plans they have for the day, and a bit of a break from all these activities and training...
